SUBJECT: Interfaculty Competitions between the Faculty of Education (FE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Innovations (FSTI)

- INTRODUCTION
On the 22nd of March 2026, the GRC 2025-2026 organized the highly anticipated interfaculty sports competitions at the University Sports Grounds. The event featured the Faculty of Education (FE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Innovations (FSTI) in a series of disciplines, including Football, Volleyball, and Netball. The primary goal was to foster unity, talent identification, and physical well-being among the student body.
- OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION
- To promote a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition between faculties.
- To provide a platform for students to showcase their athletic talents.
- To enhance the visibility of the GRC’s commitment to student welfare and extracurricular engagement.

- COMPETITION RESULTS AND HIGHLIGHTS
The competitions were characterized by high levels of energy and skill. The final results were as follows:
- Volleyball.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Innovations (FSTI) demonstrated superior tactical play and teamwork, securing a decisive victory against the Faculty of Education. - Netball.
The Faculty of Education (FE) dominated the court, showcasing excellent coordination and shooting accuracy to claim the win in the Netball category. - Football.
The football match was the highlight of the day, ending in a thrilling 1-1 draw.- Prosper of FSTI gave his team an early lead with a brilliant strike.

- Abdul of FE responded with a late equalizer in the second half of the match, ensuring both teams shared the spoils on the field.
- Overall Verdict: Despite the draw in the final match, the Faculty of Education (FE) was declared the overall category winner based on penalty scores 90 minutes game.
- REMARKS FROM THE GUEST OF HONOR
The event was graced by Mr. Atwine Steven, who served as the Guest of Honor. In his closing remarks, he commended the GRC 2025-2026 for the seamless organization of the event.

- ACCOUNTABILITY AND OBSERVATIONS
- Participation. The turnout was exceptional, with students from both faculties appearing in large numbers to cheer for their respective teams.
- Logistics. The GRC ensured that first aid kits, drinking water, and officiating officials were available on time.
- Challenges. There was a slight delay in the commencement of the Netball match due to weather conditions, but the schedule was quickly recovered.
- CONCLUSION
The interfaculty competitions between FSTI and FE were a resounding success. The GRC 2025-2026 extends its gratitude to the University Administration, the participating faculties, and Mr. Atwine Steven for making the day memorable. We recommend that such events be held more frequently to keep the university spirit alive.
