National Council for Higher Education inspects facilities for Postgraduate and Agriculture at Valley University of Science and Technology

Today, Valley University proudly hosted a distinguished team from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) as part of the accreditation process for our proposed master’s programs and agriculture programs. The visit marks a significant step towards enhancing the academic landscape of our institution and ensuring excellence in education.

The purpose of the visit was to meticulously examine and evaluate the facilities available at Valley University to support the proposed programs. This thorough assessment is crucial in determining the readiness of the institution to deliver high-quality education in these specialized fields. These courses are;

  1. Master of Education Management Science and leadership
  2. Master of Public Administration
  3. Master of Business Administration
  4. Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration
  5. Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration
  6. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
  7. Bachelor of Science with Education (Agriculture)
  8. Diploma in Public Administration

Welcoming the NCHE team, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Enos K Rwasheema expressed its commitment to providing top-notch academic programs that meet the highest standards of quality and relevance. The university’s leadership emphasized its dedication to fostering innovation, research, and practical skills development in both master’s level education and agricultural studies.

Throughout the visit, the NCHE team conducted detailed inspections of various facilities essential for running the proposed programs. This included laboratories, University farm, lecture halls, research centers, libraries, and other infrastructure vital for academic excellence. Additionally, discussions were held with faculty members, administrators, and students to gain insights into the institution’s academic environment and its capacity to deliver the proposed programs effectively.

Dr. Byabashaija Deusdedit the Academic Registrar remarked, “We are honored to host the esteemed representatives from the National Council for Higher Education. Their visit underscores our unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of education and academic excellence. We are confident that our programs in both master’s studies and agriculture will not only meet but exceed the expectations set forth by the council.”

In his remarks, Dr. Richard Ouma of NCHE thanked the University Management for always working within the NCHE guidelines and asked the University to improve on a few weak areas identified.

Associate Prof Elizabeth Kyazike the Team Leader of the Inspection Team appreciated the Management and staff for the progress so far achieved in running the University. She noted that the accreditation process is a rigorous yet vital procedure that ensures educational institutions maintain quality and relevance in their academic offerings. By undergoing this evaluation, Valley University demonstrates its dedication to continuous improvement and its pledge to provide students with exceptional learning experiences.

It should also be noted that having relevant programmes accredited is one of the steps the University is taking in its journey towards charter acquisition.

As the visit concluded, the University looks forward to receiving feedback from the NCHE team and working collaboratively towards achieving accreditation for its master’s programs and agriculture offerings.
